My Community

I find different ways to keep myself busy around my community. I go to a volleyball clinic every Sunday night. I have religious classes every Monday, and I am also a Monti-Hender Captain at school. The volleyball clinic I go to is called Ignite Elite Volleyball. And I have my religious classes at my church.

I love volleyball, and I am going to high school next year so I am always trying to improve my skills. It can be really hard and exhausting at some times but I love it. The volleyball clinic keeps me busy and I also love to meet new people. There are so many girls there and I have no clue who they are. But most of the girls are so nice and I usually become friends with them. All of the other girls come from different schools so it’s fun to meet other girls who enjoy the same hobbies as me.

I also go to religious classes on Monday’ nights. I am not the most religious person, but I try to learn new things. I also go to church almost every Sunday. There is only one person in my religious class that I actually know so I get to meet new people. Most of them go to Taft which is the middle school in Crown Point so I will probably go high school with them.

I do many different things to stay busy in my community. I love to help out and keep myself entertained with something. Hopefully I will get involved with more things, too.

Going to High School

High school is closer then it seems. I am most likely going to Crown Point High School which is a huge school. I am excited yet nervous for high school. I know high school will be fun, but it is a little intimidating being a freshman.

I’ve gone to private school basically all of my life. Private school is a lot different than public school, especially high school where there is so many kids. Private school has a lot less kids. There is only 17 kids in the whole 8th grade! Private school also focuses on each kid a lot more then public school. Since there isn’t that many kids, in my opinion, it is a little harder to make friends if you are new. There is more of a variety of kids in public school which means you can find more people like you.

I am going into high school not really knowing anyone. I only know a few people my age going to Crown Point from my church but that is it. Although I highly doubt that I will see any of them. I am going to try out for the volleyball team. I’ve heard that the volleyball team at Crown Point is extremely good. My sister tells me all the time to get on some sports team or club because that is a good way to make friends. I absolutely love volleyball so hopefully I get on the team.

Although I am nervous for high school, I think it will be an exciting experience. I am going with an open mind. I will miss FRA and my friends here so much.

What I am Thankful For

What I am Thankful for

There are many things to be thankful for. I am thankful that my family is healthy and together. I am thankful for my enormous family that I get to see all the time. I am thankful to be able to celebrate every holiday. I am thankful to go on vacations to beautiful places. I am thankful for all of these things, and more!

The number one thing I am grateful for is my family. My family means a lot to me. I know I could never live without them. I am grateful that my family is all healthy and well. I am grateful that I get to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas and all of the other holidays with my family and be happy. My family always makes me laugh. I am thankful to be able to go on vacations with my family. Some of my favorites are Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Mexico. I am so thankful to be able to go to Cuba for Christmas and New Year’s this year. I am so thankful for my dysfunctional, crazy family.

I am also thankful for my dogs. My dogs mean the world to me. My dogs make me happy when I am sad. They make me feel better when I am sick. And, they are the cutest things to wake up to. I have two dogs: a Pitbull and a Yorkie. Their names are Chapo and Lulu. They both have totally different personalities. They always make me laugh. When I am having a bad day, I always look forward to seeing them.

All in all, there are so many other things to be thankful for but I wouldn’t be able to fit everything in an essay. This year, I think everyone should be grateful for what they have.
